Benefits

  • Excellent introductory bonus offer: The U.S. Bank Business Leverage Visa Signature Card has a generous intro bonus offer. However, the spending threshold that you need to cross to earn the bonus is relatively high. Cardholders who spend $7,500 in the first four months after opening their account earn $750 in cash-back rewards, gift cards, travel credits, or a deposit into a U.S. Bank account.
  • Rewards points double automatically based on your spending: The Business Leverage card offers one point per dollar on all purchases and two points per dollar for the two categories in which you spend the most each month. Unlike other similar cards, which require you to choose a category, this card automatically switches the rewards to the two categories where you spend the most. The settings automatically adjust based on your spending, so you get the maximum rewards without doing anything.
  • No limit on rewards: Many other business rewards cards have a cap on the amount you can earn. Though this cap may be quite high in some cases, there usually is something in the fine print that limits rewards after you cross a specific spending threshold. The Business Leverage card does not have such a limit, making it an excellent option for businesses with higher travel and operations expenses.
  • Annual fee waived for the first year: The yearly fee for the U.S. Bank Business Leverage card is $95. However, U.S. Bank waives this charge for the first year. This initial annual fee break means that the fee will not eat into the value of your intro bonus. Also, cardholders have a year to decide if the Business Leverage card is a good option for their company’s needs before they have to start paying for it.

Drawbacks

  • There is an annual fee: The Business Leverage card has a yearly fee of $95. This fee is competitive with other premium business credit cards, and it does get waived for the first year. However, this expense could lower the overall value that you get from using this card. Some of your cash-back rewards will go towards paying the annual fee. You need to make sure that you earn more than $95 per year in cash-back rewards to make this card worthwhile.
  • Few extra perks: Unlike some cards, the Business Leverage card does not offer many travel or business-related extras. For example, cardholders do not get access to travel deals, and they do not get perks, such as trip cancellation insurance. This card also carries a foreign transaction fee, so it is not ideal for those who travel internationally.
  • Modest rewards overall: The one-to-two-points-per-dollar rewards system is decent, but some other business cards offer category-based points that reach more than 2% cash back. However, other cards may not be able to match the category flexibility of the U.S. Bank Business Leverage card, which automatically maximizes your rewards based on spending habits, rather than fixed categories.
  • High spending requirement for intro bonus: The U.S. Bank Business Leverage card has one of the better intro bonuses in the industry. However, you have to spend $7,500 in four months to activate the bonus. For some businesses, this is not an issue, but others without regular monthly expenses may struggle to reach that threshold.

What Can You Expect From the U.S. Bank Business Leverage Visa Signature Card?

The U.S. Bank Business Leverage Visa Signature Card offers business-centered features. For example, you can get employee cards for your account and create settings and limits for these cards. All cards come with liability protection, so you are not responsible for fraudulent charges.

Some automated features are attractive for people who do not want to fuss over their rewards program. The Business Leverage card automatically adjusts your rewards categories each month so that you always get double points for the two categories where you spend the most money.

You also have options for redeeming rewards. The standard reward is cash back in the form of a statement credit. However, you can also deposit rewards earnings in a U.S. Bank account or get gift cards or travel credits.

Business owners can manage their Business Leverage account via U.S. Bank’s online account management portal or a mobile app. Customers who already have a U.S. Bank account will be familiar with this account management system.

Who Should Get the U.S. Bank Business Leverage Visa Signature Card?

The U.S. Bank Business Leverage Visa Signature Card is a good option for small companies with lots of business expenses each month.

First of all, they need to meet the $7,500 spending threshold within four months to receive the intro bonus worth $750, which is one of the primary reasons to get this card. Secondly, since there is no limit to the rewards, big spenders can earn more with this card than other comparable cards.

The U.S. Bank Business Leverage card is not as competitive as a travel card because it does not offer more than two points per dollar on travel, and it lacks perks such as travel insurance. For this reason, the Business Leverage card is best for businesses that do not engage in a lot of travel.

Finally, the Business Leverage automatically adjusts your categories so that you always get the maximum cash-back rewards available. For those who would rather focus on their business rather than managing their rewards credit card, the U.S Bank Business Leverage Visa Signature Card is a good option.
