What Is a Routing Number?
Banks recognize each other by their routing numbers. All routing numbers are nine numbers long and are unique to a particular financial institution. - The first nine digits from left to right is the ABA routing number;
- The next 10 to 11 digits are your bank account number;
- The last three or four digits are the check number, which matches the check number displayed on the upper right-hand corner of your check.
