Huntington Bank is a full service bank that has its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, but it also operates in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia, and Kentucky.

What Is a Routing Number?

A routing number is an identifier that banks use when sending money electronically. You can think of it as an address for transferring funds automatically.

Routing numbers always have nine digits. The first four digits are for the federal financial district, which identifies the bank’s general area. The second four digits are for the specific bank. Each bank has at least one routing number, and some banks, such a Huntington Bank, have multiple routing numbers.

The final digit in the routing number confirms the previous eight digits.

Most people first use a routing number when setting up a direct deposit. With routing number and account number information, your employer can send a paycheck directly to your account rather than issuing you a paper check that you have to manually deposit.

You can also use your routing and account numbers to set up automatic payments for loans or other recurring bills. Additionally, you may perform a wire transfer or automated clearing house (ACH) transfer using a routing number. You can electronically send and receive money from your accounts in another bank or send and receive payments to or receive money from a third party.

You may also use your routing number to send direct payments for taxes to the IRS instead of sending them a check in the mail.

Where Can You Find Your Huntington Bank Routing Number?

There are three different places to find Huntington Bank’s routing numbers.

  • You can locate the routing number when  you log into the online banking platform. The routing number is in the Account Information section of the Account Details page.
  • The routing number associated with your account is also on the Summary Tab of Huntington’s mobile banking app.
  • The bank routing number is the nine-digit number on the bottom left of a personal check that you use for your Huntington Bank account.
