If you’re a member of the Police and Fire Federal Credit Union (PFFCU) your routing number is 236084285. You can find this number in a few different places and use it for several different financial transactions.
What Is a Routing Number?
A routing number is an identification number for a bank, credit union, or other financial institution. While “routing number” is the most common term, it can also be called a:
- Routing transit number.
- ABA routing number.
Routing numbers are used for many different financial transactions including:
- Direct deposits.
- Electronic funds withdrawals.
- Transferring money between banks.
- Automatic bill payments.
- Online and ACH (automated clearing house) payments.
- Processing checks.
- Paying taxes.
- Wire transfers.
While things like your savings, check, and credit card numbers are used to represent your personal financial accounts, a routing number is used to identify the larger banking institution that is either receiving or transferring money in a particular financial transaction.
Where Can You Find Your Police and Fire Federal Credit Union Routing Number?
Your PFFCU routing number is located in a couple of different places. First, you can find it on the bottom left-hand corner of the front of your PFFCU checks. It is located at the far left-hand side and is followed by your account and check numbers.
In addition to your checks, you can find the routing number directly on the PFFCU website.
If you don’t have access to either of these, you may call the credit union directly at (800) 228-9901 and request the number over the phone. While you may have to answer a few security questions, you should have no trouble getting the number from a representative. Finally, you can also email member services and request the number directly.
